Kew-Forest Students Raise $1450+ for The Side-Out Foundation to Support Breast Cancer Research
Last week’s Dig Pink event was a complete success thanks to the help of our wonderful school community. The Girl’s Volleyball Team and members of the Boy’s Volleyball and Soccer Teams went head-to-head in a volleyball tournament.
We had a full house with families and students across all divisions. The volleyball game was exciting and entertaining, the snacks were delicious, and the raffle tickets were in-demand.
We set a goal to raise at least $1k this year to donate to breast cancer research. Between our Dig Pink t-shirts sold, raffle tickets, snacks, and generous donations, we were able to exceed our goal. In the end, we raised a total of $1,453 for the Side-Out Foundation!!!
And a very special thank you to senior Elena O. ‘24, The Kaleidoscope Club, and our student-athletes who volunteered to play for a great cause. Thank you Kew-Forest!!! GO JAGUARS!!!
ABOUT THE SIDE-OUT FOUNDATION
The Side-Out Foundation helps people with breast cancer regain control of their lives – and we started our fundraising efforts through the sport of volleyball. Our Executive Director and Founder, Rick Dunetz, was a high school volleyball coach when his mother, Gloria, was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer. Together he and his father, Bryant, decided to tell her story, and the story of all those with metastatic breast cancer, through dedicated volleyball matches across the U.S., where communities would rally and fundraise to support breast cancer research. This is how Dig Pink was born – and it is still a central program of The Side-Out Foundation.
